A Personal Note from Orion

Everyone has a gift that they can share with the world – do you know what’s yours? Whether you are an artist, a coach,  an entrepreneur who creates amazing innovations to improve lives, or a mother, you need to realize what your gift is and own it!

Kris Dillard is a successful coach of the Release Technique, which allows us to release negativity in order to improve the quality of our lives, and really shine with our gifts. My guest today helped me discover that I was a realized master as a coach – meaning I was truly bringing my gift to the world in helping women live their best lives as the best version of themselves.

In this Episode

  • [03:51] – Kris starts things off by telling us a bit about himself, how he grew up, and how he transitioned from his work as a software developer into a life full of self-discovery.

  • [05:25] – What is the method Kris uses and promotes, and why does he find it so powerful?
  • [09:05] – What you’ll see when you use this method, Kris explains, is that the amazing version of yourself that you’ll discover during the process has always been there.
  • [10:14] – The number-one reason many people sleepwalk through life is desire, Kris points out, and links this to both Buddhism and Christianity. Orion disagrees, so Kris explains what he means in more depth.
  • [11:58] – Orion steps in to reveal that she thinks that desire is the most important thing a person can have, and offers examples. Kris then expands on what Orion has been saying and discusses the fact that the mind functions in pictures, not words.
  • [14:40] – Kris explains that, keeping in mind that the mind uses pictures, if you want something, your mind pictures a lack of having the thing it wants.
  • [15:21] – How can you attain something if you don’t want it?
  • [17:16] – Kris offers several amazing stories to illustrate how this method has worked from him.
  • [20:02] – We learn more about how to use the method that Kris has been describing. He offers an exercise for listeners to explore his technique.
  • [24:20] – When Orion observes this process, she would expect some people who go through it to get stuck in the negativity for a long time. She and Kris then discuss how to handle this.
  • [27:10] – How does judgment fit into Kris’ world? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
  • [29:55] – We hear more about what people experience during Kris’ course. He points out that most people come because they’re facing specific pain points or challenges.
  • [32:25] – How do past lives and reincarnation fit into the method?
  • [34:06] – Kris believes that life is really about freedom, and that we’re on this planet to discover who we are. He then talks about how to know when a master is realized. He and Orion then talk about how charging money for something relates to a master being all-giving.
  • [37:52] – We hear about Kris’ thoughts on meditation, which he describes as being passive. He then offers an active technique.
  • [41:42] – Orion returns to something Kris said about negative emotions. She shares her own thoughts on emotions.
  • [43:34] – Kris expands on his own thoughts about emotions in response to what Orion has been saying.
  • [45:30] – What do you do in the moment if someone provokes a negative feeling in you (for example, with road rage or aggressive driving)?
  • [49:17] – Kris offers his definition of happiness. Orion then shares hers in response.
  • [50:42] – What are Kris’ three top tips for living a stellar life? 1. Let go of disapproving of yourself. 2. Give yourself love and approval. 3. Let go of wanting so that you can have.
  • [51:57] – Where can people learn more about Kris and his method?

About Today’s Show

‏‏Hey and welcome, welcome, welcome to Stellar Life podcast. I’m your host Orion. I’m happy you’re having a good day. If you’re having a good day, guess what? It’s gonna get even better after you listen to the show. If your day is not as amazing, guess what? It’s gonna get better! It’s gonna get better because every little thing is gonna be alright. My guest today is Kris Dillard. He is a second-generation teacher of a method developed by Lester Levenson to quiet the mind, so your inherent joy and creative power comes out naturally. With 14 years of experience with Lester’s method, Kris has become a true alchemist in transmuting this innovative technique, which Lester discovered, making his own journey to personal realization. According to Kris, this technique is the fastest key to achieving the quality of life and consciousness you seek. You will experience that unlimited joys and powerful state of being, that is your natural right and your natural state. I really enjoyed this show. I was surprised to discover that I was a realized master. Mind you, I gave myself that definition, that title after I heard Kris’s definition to the qualities that are needed for a realized master, so I said, “Why not? I am one.” I believe that you are, too. I believe that you should own it because we all have areas in life that we are realized in – areas in our life that are our gifts that we are masters of. Own your gift, and own the part of you that is a realized master. In this show, Kris and I agreed on many things. We also disagreed on some, especially when it came to words and distinctions, but what we both totally agreed on is how to handle emotions. Both Kris and I believe that in order to deal with negative emotions, you have to confront your emotions. You have to really feel them, and only then – not when you push it aside, but only when you allow the space for yourself to handle your emotions – you will be able to let them go and move on – move forward. I hope you will enjoy this as much as I did, and now onto the show. Hey Kris, and welcome to the show!

‏‏Hey, Orion! I’m so glad to be here.

‏‏Yeah, I’m happy you’re here as well, because you’re gonna talk about really fun things today that we all need. We all need more happiness. We all need more release of emotions, and you’re gonna guide us through some steps to really improve our lives. That is always good.

‏‏Yeah.

‏‏Let’s start by you sharing a little bit about yourself.

‏‏Okay. Well, I’m someone who grew up in a pretty normal life, did everything that you’re supposed to do. You go to school, get a good education, go out and get a good job, start a life for yourself, get married, and do all the things, including having the white picket fence. I did all of that, and where I found myself in life was just going through the motions of doing everything I’m supposed to do to be happy. But really I was experiencing a life of sleepwalking through it, where I felt like a zombie. What happened to me that was a very fortunate thing, because I was a software developer in a very specialized field, and then all of a sudden one day, my revenue dried up. I had to leave that position, so I found myself in a kind of crisis of: What do I do with my life now? Do I keep doing this? Or what’s next for me? That got me to start looking for answers about what life is really about, which eventually led me into some self-discoveries, into reading some books from some wonderful people, and eventually into this method that I’m gonna share with you today.

‏‏That’s amazing. Let’s just dive into the method. What is the method, and why do you find it so powerful?

‏‏First, to describe what it is, I wanna share with you a little story about where it came from, how it came to be. This all started back in 1952, when a physicist by the name of Lester Levenson – he was 42 years old, and at that time, he suffered his second massive heart attack. His condition was so bad, that the doctors gave him two weeks to live. They just sent him home to die.

‏‏Wow.

‏‏His whole life, Lester, was a seri-entrepreneur, a very active man, and now his whole life collapsed. He went home feeling very scared and very confused. Now –  when he went home, the very first thing that he said to himself was, “Lester, you’re stupid, stupid, stupid,” because he had spent his entire life studying to find out what life is all about through the mind, through physics, and mathematics, and psychiatry, medicine. He studied all of these fields, and what he concluded was that all of the knowledge that he accumulated didn’t give him the answers. All he got into the place where he was a dead man, but in a scientist – he knew that, “Well, with a formula that I’m working isn’t working, I gotta start from scratch.” That’s what he did. He wiped the whole slate clean. What he did was he started to examine his life, and what he saw, looking through all of his relationships, all of his interactions, throughout his life with all the time when he was sick and all the times when he was losing money in his businesses, and all the times when his relationships were bad, was when he was looking for love and happiness out there in the world. Whereas conversely, all the times when he was prosperous and healthy and life was great, he wasn’t looking for love. He was giving it – just giving it freely. He asked himself, “What if I can let that go – let go of looking for it? And if I can let go of all of my non-loving feelings, would that make a difference with what’s going on in my body?” In doing that, he stumbled upon a natural ability that we all have to let go. In one month’s time, totally cured his body, then he found that the same principle applied to his pocketbook, to his finances, and he accumulated within that time – within the next month, 14 apartment buildings in Manhattan with no money down – just manifested it. Became a millionaire instantly, just through the principle of love. But he didn’t stop there, he kept going. In the course of three months, totally undid his mind, his ego, got to that quiet place and to that Christlike consciousness that we hear of, by those who come around every once in awhile, from that place. He achieved that, and then he spent the rest of his life – he lived another 40+ years, never having to see a doctor again, showing others what he discovered.

‏‏That’s pretty insane. I mean, it sounds like a quantum leap, where you just exchange into a completely different version of yourself, and you get some moments of awakening. Then you’re a completely different person.

‏‏Yeah.

‏‏Yeah. It’s pretty amazing.

‏‏What you’ll see is that that amazing version of yourself has always been here – right here in front of your nose. You were just looking away from it. That’s what’s so beautifully simple about this method. It’s getting you to see with your own eyes exactly who you are, and it’s totally experiential. You don’t have to believe anything. You don’t have to take anything by hearsay. In fact, what we say in this course that we do is, “Don’t believe a word that I say, but check it out for yourself, and you’ll see it for yourself.” It’s really great!

What you’ll see is that that amazing version of yourself has always been here – right here in front of your nose. You were just looking away from it. Click To Tweet

‏‏Yeah. Why do you think so many people are sleepwalking like a zombie?

‏‏Well, the number one problem is desire.

‏‏That’s amazing. Wow.

‏‏Which isn’t a new concept. That’s what Buddha said 2500 years ago – that life is suffering, and the cause of suffering is desire, therefore if we end desire, we end suffering. Jesus said the same thing. “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” Both of them were coming from a position of love. We can take a look at the nature of desire and see that it’s something totally different than what we’ve been brought up to believe. It’s just a habit that we’re holding on to desire, thinking that it’s gonna do something for us. It’s totally false. That’s why we’re sleepwalking.

‏‏Are you saying we should not have desire?

‏‏Exactly. But it’s different than what you think.

‏‏Explain, because I disagree.

‏‏Okay. Sometimes we might be on the same track, because you have a certain experience and realization, and sometimes it’s a matter of semantics. But here’s what I’m talking about with desires.Desire is really an experience of lack. It’s a feeling of emptiness, like a void. In that is the idea that once I fulfill that desire – maybe it’s a relationship or maybe it’s in having a lot of money or being successful. Once I achieve that thing, then I can be happy; however in the meantime, I’m feeling lonely, empty, lacking, and deprived, and looking for happiness out there. That’s the difference. That’s what I’m talking about. Does that make sense to you?

‏‏Yes, and I think desire is the most important thing that a person can have – the desire to love more, the desire to expand, the desire to have quantum leap, the desire to share with others and grow and evolve. I think that without desire, people are walking like zombies. I think that for me, it’s the distinction between desire and expectations because if somebody has a desire to evolve and grow, and connect to the light and the creator, and share and give more to the world, then – if Lester did not have the desire to live, he would not have the realization and learned about the new formula. If he did not have the desire to figure out what life is really about, he wouldn’t come across to that method. But I think, for me, it’s the idea between desire and expectation. It’s about – if somebody has expectations for something to happen and it doesn’t happen, then there is the feeling of void. But for me, it’s not about not having a desire.

‏‏I totally agree with you. You’re right on track. Yeah. One thing I want to put out there involves the mechanics of the mind and how the mind works and how to make that quantum leap from desire to actually having. One thing about the mind is that it deals only in pictures. It’s completely based on pictures. If I say to you, “Don’t fall down.”

‏‏You imagine falling down.

‏‏Yeah. It goes right to the picture. The mind doesn’t process the words “not” or “don’t.”

‏‏Yeah, that’s why so many – I was in a dance class yesterday, and my dance instructor was like, “Don’t forget this part.” What your mind hears is, “Forget this part.” Yeah, I’m totally – yeah, our subconscious minds – 10% of our mind is the conscious mind, and it’s more the logic and the ideas, and 90% is the subconscious mind. When you talk to the subconscious mind, you wanna talk to it with symbols and pictures.

‏‏Yeah.

‏‏Yes.

‏‏Yeah. It all deals in pictures. That’s why people can experience things like telepathy and communication, even if you speak different languages, because you’re really just – when you’re using words, you’re describing a picture that you’re looking at in your mind. Then we’re all connected, so we could just share those pictures back and forth. But with that in mind, when you’re looking at wanting, notice what you’re picturing. If the mind just goes right to the picture, if you’re wanting something – even if you’re wanting that love and harmony, can you see that there’s a picture of “I don’t have it yet, and I gotta do something to attain it.”

When you’re using words, you’re describing a picture that you’re looking at in your mind. Then we’re all connected, so we could just share those pictures back and forth.

‏‏Okay.

‏‏What I’m saying is that if you practice letting go of the what, the desire for it, you actually move from wanting to having. That picture changes. That’s where the quantum leap is. It’s like stepping right through a wormhole to get there. It’s really amazing.

‏‏You’re saying – how can I have it, if I don’t even want it?

‏‏That’s the little confusion about the mind. But all you have to do is look at things that you want – especially things that you’ve been wanting for a long time. Notice a lot of those things that you’ve been wanting for a while – they’re just still not happening. Then maybe it’s because you’re holding the wrong picture in the mind with the wanting.

O; Is it about not wanting, not having the desire? Or is it about getting rid of the attachment to the desire?

‏‏That’s it. Getting rid of the attachment to it.

‏‏Okay.

‏‏Yeah, and you literally see yourself stepping across that threshold into having. What you’ll discover – like I said, don’t believe a word that I say. It’s experiential. You could see it for yourself, that when you let go of wanting, you actually move into having. They really are opposites. It’s like flipping a light switch.

‏‏Yeah, I mean, I’ve experienced it in my life. The moment I let go of attachment to something that I really want, or even if it is something really silly like “I can’t find my keys,” and if I’m so attached to it, “I wanna find the keys. I wanna find the keys, and I can’t find them. I can’t find them.” Then I just let go, forget about it, which made it almost like letting go of the attachment, here it is in front of my eyes.

‏‏That’s exactly it. Like I said, sometimes it’s a matter of semantics, but we’re both on the same page here. Yeah. What this does is it simplifies it, breaks it down, so you get to see where it is that you’re wanting, holding in mind the lacking picture, and feeling. You could literally drop it with a decision and move right into that having. By practice, you could do that all the time.

‏‏I know you told me crazy stories about manifesting abundance and manifesting really amazing things through your technique. Well, can you share a little bit more about that?

‏‏Yeah. The mind is a creative instrument. Most of the time, we’re just holding the wrong thing in mind with the wanting. When you clean that up and you quiet the mind, number one, you get to the place, where you’re in control of what you’re picturing, and you’re also in the place, where you discover what happiness is. This is – in some of my experiences, what I’ve manifested was – when I first learned this method, how to apply it on my goals in life. When I walked away from my first class, I set a goal to have $20,000. I said, “Okay, let’s just try it out. Let me just set a number and see if I get it.” I applied the method on it. In about a month-and-a-half, literally out of the blue, I received a letter in the mail from a lawyer that said there are some relatives of mine, some uncles that I maybe have met once in my life, and they were selling some property and decided to include me in on the deal for some reason, for $19,800.

The mind is a creative instrument. Most of the time, we’re just holding the wrong thing in mind with the wanting. Click To Tweet

‏‏$19,000 and what? $800?

‏‏$800.

‏‏U did not make the 20k. Wow, wow, wow. That’s insane. I mean, it sounds a little “Whoo” It sounds like, “Oh, this is impossible. It’s just a coincidence.”

‏‏Yeah, but when you do it again and again and again.

‏‏Okay, how did you do it again and again and again?

‏‏Shortly thereafter – remember when I share my story. I wasn’t working anymore. I was like – I was looking for an answer to have money flow into my life, so I started applying the method on just allowing my life to be easy, allowing abundance to come to me. A couple of months later, I got into a situation, where I was doing some contract work for programming, but I was working maybe three to four hours a month. For a period of about six to eight months, I was making more than I ever did, working in a job. That happened. Then a little bit later on after that, I set an even bigger goal. I set a goal for $100,000 or more. What landed in my lap after about a month of just releasing on it, letting go of my negativity and desires for it, I ended up with a farm in Iowa given to me.

‏‏No!

‏‏It’s worth over $800,000. It produces a yearly income, just handed to me. Wasn’t even supposed to happen.

‏‏Okay, I wanna play in your realm because it sounds like the Matrix.

‏‏Yeah.

‏‏What is the release technique?

‏‏Well, it’s simply a process of elimination, by eliminating the negativity. You see the divine beingness of who you are. You become self-realized, self-obvious on your own true nature – who and what you really are. You start to experience that quickly. It’s such a while. It’s just like taking the blinders off. It’s very direct and very practical to do it.

‏‏For example?

‏‏Well, I can give you just a brief demonstration, just to the listeners here, of how we deal with our feelings and how we hold on to negativity with our feelings. We all have feelings. We get angry. We get depressed. We get jealous and so on. Now, where do these feelings come from? How do we collect them? We assumed responsibility by putting those feelings in there, and how we’ve done that is: throughout our whole lives, when things happen to us that we don’t like – we have disappointments. We get hurt, and we have these feelings that come up: fear and so on. We don’t like these negative feelings, when we experience them. We say No to them. We start pushing them down. But when we push them down, we’re actually collecting them. That’s how we load up our subconscious mind with all of this stuff. We’re doing it. Just by handling our feelings a different way – see, we have a tendency to say No if fear comes up. We’re like, “No. I don’t like you, fear. Get outta here.” Or anger. “Oh no. I can’t be angry now. I have to go to this meeting.” So we suppress it. We say No to it. For those of you listening, just think about something that maybe frustrates you a little bit in your life. Maybe it’s a situation or a person in your life. You don’t have to pick the most frustrating thing – just something mildly frustrating. Now if you measured that frustration on a scale of 0-10, where 10 being the most frustrated, and 0 being the least frustrated, just see where you’d be. Measure yourself. Maybe it’s a 2, a 6, an 8. Heck, maybe it’s even a 15. But whatever it is, just notice, and then notice if you’ve been saying No to that frustration. When you say No to the frustration, does that make the frustration go away? It doesn’t, right? In fact, it probably gets you even more frustrated. Saying No doesn’t work. This is really practical. You could see – saying No just doesn’t work. It doesn’t go anywhere. Let’s just try something opposite – something different. Look at your frustration. Never mind the story, the why behind it. It’s just a feeling of frustration. That’s it. It’s a 2, a 6, an 8, or whatever. Could you say Yes to the frustration? It’s that simple. Just Y-E-S. Could you say Yes to the frustration a little bit more? Notice how Yes is positive. Yes is loving. No is negative. If you look at your feeling of frustration right now, and you look and you say, “No. No. No.” Try it out. Just say “No frustration. No.” Notice how that gets heavier. But right now, instead, say Yes to it. “Yes, frustration. Yes. Yes. Yes.” Notice. It gets lighter. It’s a little bit more uplifting. Say Yes to it a little bit more, and a little bit more, and a little bit more, and a little bit more. Notice what you’re experiencing. You may notice the number going down. If it’s at an 8, maybe it’s at a 7 or a 4. Or you might notice you feel a little bit lighter, more spacious. See the difference between saying No and saying Yes? One suppresses. The other releases. This is how you can actually empty yourself out. Now the more you start doing this – this is just the tip of the iceberg. This is just kind of showing you a little demonstration of how you can let go of the feelings.

‏‏When I observed this process, I would think that some people would get in the habit of saying Yes to the negativity and can stay there for days and weeks and months, where instead of it being integrated as “I feel my emotions, and now it’s out of the way.” I can see some people getting stuck there in the negativity, especially if this is something that is an 8 or a 9 or a 10 out of 10.

‏‏Well, it does take a little bit of practice, but you’ll see that you actually move through it. What you’ll discover is that every feeling really wants to leave. They don’t belong there. It’s like every feeling’s pushing up. That can be obvious because you know sometimes that anger comes up – you just can’t contain it anymore, and you explode. Or that grief – you can’t hold it down anymore. You just break down, especially when you least want to, in certain situations.

‏‏Some people are addicted to negativity, and some people are depressed. I mean, how can somebody like that – I can imagine somebody who is depressed doing this process and just getting more depressed for a long period of time.

‏‏Well, I know that we’ve been talking about letting go of want, and we’ve been playing around the semantics of it. Having said that, I’m just gonna put it out there that really, it’s about the “want to.” If someone’s addicted to negativity, or they’re wallowing in depression, they have to make the decision to do it. This technique won’t just magically fix somebody. It’s just a tool. If you use it, it works.

‏‏Would you recommend somebody to, like you said, start with something that – because I think it needs more of baby steps when you’re dealing with something that is negative and you’re using a new tool. Start using it in a more gentle way, meaning that why don’t you start with something that is less than 5, and then work through it because the higher we are on the scale of negativity or heightened emotion, the more we have attachments to it.

‏‏Yeah. It’s definitely good to start off a little bit smaller because then you can get some gains, and you can get a little bit more powerful.

‏‏More confident.

‏‏Yeah, and then you can start taking on the bigger stuff, and you’ll see that all the feelings are all the same. If you can let a light feeling go, you can actually let a heavy feeling go all the same. The only difference between a light feeling and a heavy feeling really is our judgment about it.

‏‏Right.

‏‏Yeah.

‏‏Let’s talk about judgment. How does judgment fit in your world?

‏‏Well, to me, it’s a wanting to change something – wanting to change the way that something is. If you’ve ever listened to Eckhart Tolle, he talks about that a lot – wanting to change, wanting something to be different from now. A lot of times, that’s what’s going on when we have judgments. Yeah.

‏‏Is judgment a good thing or a bad thing?

‏‏Well, I say it’s a bad thing. The opposite of that is acceptance, which is a very powerful place because acceptance is really a sense of: there’s no good or bad. It just is. It’s perfect as it is. No judgments are good or bad. It’s not like an apathetic sort of thing, “Oh, the world is falling apart. I just accept it as it is.” No. It’s actually a much higher energy. It’s like – you know there’s times in your life, when things were just so serendipitous, so amazing, and they just happen that way. They fell together, and you were like, “Wow! How’d that happen?” You couldn’t have even planned it better.

‏‏Right.

‏‏See, that is the energy of real acceptance. I say, if you let go of the judgment, you start entering into that state more and more.

‏‏Right. In my eyes, I mean, judgment – we do need basic judgment to know if we’re eating the poisoned berry or the good berry, like they study judgment if we’re allowing this toxic person into our lives or not. It’s a matter of being discerning and learning through contrast.

‏‏Gotcha.

‏‏But I guess, when you’re talking about judgment, you’re talking about something else, right?

‏‏Yeah. What you’re describing – I would call discrimination, as in, seeing things clearly, seeing things for as they are. If something isn’t right – when we’re talking about love, being loving doesn’t mean being stupid. Doesn’t mean that you let somebody walk all over you.

‏‏Right.

‏‏You could be loving, and you could tell it like it is.

‏‏I love you so much. I’m a doormat!

‏‏Yeah. You can even be outrageous and come from a loving place and help the other one. Really, what you’re describing is right on point. This is what I call “simple discrimination.” That is a powerful aspect of this course. This course really hinges on the ability to discriminate and start discriminating on what you’re doing, who you are, and stepping into that powerful position.

‏‏What do people experience during the course?

‏‏Well, at first, a lot of people show up because they obviously have problems, pain points, and they may have specific challenges like a money challenge or a health challenge. There’s a certain degree of pain and suffering that’s going on with it, and that’s usually what motivates us to start looking for answers. At first, you start to get a relief from this – from this oppressive negativity and pain. You get a little bit lighter. You start experiencing this right away. That’s the great thing about this method. You don’t have to wait weeks or months to see if it’s working for you. From day one, you start experiencing that shift, so as you feel happier and lighter, then you keep going. Then as you apply it, what happens is your identification starts to shift. What you experience is that the mind, which a lot of us are so automatically used to identifying with. We run to it to tell us what to do. We’re constantly listening to the thoughts that are running in our head or monkey mind. That drops away. The mind gets quieter. What you start to experience beyond that is so amazing, and it’s beyond words. It’s the greatest joy, and it’s a knowingness. You don’t have to think. You just know, and you know you know. This is a sensation that is unexplainable.

What you start to experience beyond that is so amazing, and it’s beyond words. It’s the greatest joy, and it’s a knowingness.

‏‏Nice. Well, a sensation is never explainable. When I went to Oneness University in India, and the monks were saying that god is an experience. It’s not an idea. There’s so many people that are – they’re religiously going through the church or the synagogue or the mosque and following the written rules but never feel presence of god.

‏‏Yeah. Then all those teachings – they’re all in their essence coming from the same place.

‏‏Yes, for sure.

‏‏Yeah.

‏‏They are tools to touch the divine. It just depends on – the experience of the divine is very personal. It’s not something that can be taught verbally or logically to the 10% of the logical mind. It’s more in the 90% of our subconscious mind and the realm of sensation.

‏‏Yeah.

‏‏Do you believe in past lives and reincarnation?

‏‏Oh, I do.

‏‏Okay, and how does it fit into the method?

‏‏Well, it’s something that is not necessary. It’s something that you may experience. You may experience sensations and realizations about past lives, but the nature of this method is you don’t have to really analyze anything. You don’t have to go and pull stuff apart specifically because it happened 2000 years ago to you. It’s kind of like if you have a splinter, and you’re looking at that splinter. You don’t care what color it is, what shape it is, how it got there. You just take a pair of tweezers and pull it out. Even though you may have realizations of past life experiences, all that same stuff that may have happened way back when – it’s still in your mind right now. All you have to do is just really be present with what’s going on in the conscious right now – your consciousness. It’s all the stuff in the past anyway, and it’s still here. So you just deal with it now, and you can undo it all.

‏‏Yeah, it reminds me of the idea of hypnosis or EMDR or even – maybe a little bit tapping – where you don’t really have to know what happened. The moment you release an emotion in the present that is related to one thing, it’s almost like a domino effect. It just like drops all the events in the past that happened that are connected to that painful emotion. You don’t even have to know what the event was.

‏‏Exactly. Yeah.

‏‏Wow. After studying this method, what do you think life is really about?

‏‏It’s about freedom.

‏‏Freedom.

‏‏It’s about presence, yeah. Because that’s really what we’re here on this planet to do – is to discover who we are, what life is all about. It’s like this whole existence is like a big classroom, and you don’t graduate until you become more loving. That’s the key.

‏‏Do you ever graduate?

‏‏Well, there are some examples of those who do…

‏‏Who?

‏‏…called the Buddhas, the Jesus’s, Lester, Eckhart Tolle. You could hear when they speak, where they’re coming from. Yeah, I think there are a lot of examples out there. Yogananda, Ramana Maharshi. It resonates with your own truth.

‏‏How do you know when a master is realized? You just believe it? How do you know if they are? Who knows?

‏‏First, Lester gave some benchmarks about that – talked about it. In one of the things that a master will do is they won’t talk up to you and they won’t talk down to you. They’ll treat you as an exact equal. They’re just there to show you who you are. That’s one way you’ll know. Oftentimes they won’t give you a bunch of guidance. They won’t play Dr. Phil with you. They just remind you, “Hey! You’re you! You’re perfect. You’re the all.” Yeah.

‏‏I treat my clients as equals. Am I a master?

‏‏You’re definitely living that direction. Yes. Absolutely.

‏‏What else is the definition of a master?

‏‏Being all-giving. They won’t want anything from you. They won’t require anything of you. They’re just there to give freely. No strings attached.

‏‏When you learned the method from them, did you not pay him – to learn the method? Or did you not work for him?

‏‏Well, the funny thing is – and I’m sure you’ve seen this in the studies that you’ve done and experiences that you’ve had – is that the way that our mind works is that we value things to the degree that we pay for them or work for them.

‏‏Right.

‏‏It shouldn’t have to be that way, but that’s the way that the mind works.

‏‏Right.

‏‏Yeah, you’ll see that most of them charge, and in doing so, those that take it, they get better results than oftentimes what’s given freely.

‏‏You think it’s their intention of “I’m gonna charge you a lot of money, and the more I charge you, the bigger the breakthrough, so I’m all-giving”?

‏‏Not necessarily. I think just putting it out there that, “Okay, I need to put in the commitment, step up to the plate.” Really that’s enough.

‏‏I mean, I agree with that. I agree with the idea that – honestly, the more a person is invested, and usually people are very attached to money, so this is the biggest investment – the greater the breakthrough. I just don’t see how it relate to a master being all-giving.

‏‏Yeah. Well, the best givingness really isn’t in money or things. It’s in love. Even though they may charge – and sometimes they do it just for the organization…

‏‏I’m telling you, the more we talk, the more I’m like, “I am a freaking master.” I’m really loving and giving.

‏‏Yeah, well, I can hear it in your voice. You really are.

‏‏I’m joking. I’m joking. I’m very humble as well, as you can see, as you can hear. That’s awesome.

‏‏They do that. Then that’s their business.

‏‏Right. What else can you share with us? I know that you have a 5-step solution or formula that you wanted to share with us as well.

‏‏Yeah. Now some of these points – we’ve already covered. One of the things that’s really great about this method is that it is really tuned into the approach of western thinking. Now I’ve seen all sorts of modalities and teachings my whole life. As early as I can remember, when I was a kid, both my parents were into some very deep spiritual stuff. I’ve seen a lot, and to me, really the next best thing that I’ve experienced, to this method is meditation because meditation’s about quieting the mind. But the thing about meditation is that it’s a passive way of letting go. It’s like, “I’m just gonna focus on one thought.” It’s like if you and I are in a conversation, and you were talking to me and I didn’t talk back to you, eventually you’d stop talking to me. Over time, the mind just kind of slowly stops talking to you, but it’s a passive way of getting there. Now this method is active, which means you can actually use your goals in the world. You could use the challenges that are right in front of your face and use this method right on the spot – right in the moment. Oftentimes, if somebody’s in your face, giving you a hard time, you can’t always say, “Hey, I’m gonna go meditate for a couple of hours. Can we resume this later?”

You could use the challenges that are right in front of your face and use this method right on the spot – right in the moment. Click To Tweet

‏‏Yeah, not usual.

‏‏Yeah, so this is actually an active technique. When you are challenged right in the moment and your feelings come up in a certain way, this is the tool to handle them right in the moment. You can use it to dig. Among these points is really showing how you can use your spirituality, your practice to get real results in the world, apply them to your goals and what you’re doing in life and making your life better in the process. Now, one thing that we’ve been talking about is the feelings, like when I went into that little, short demo of how to say yes to your feelings, so that they can come up and leave. The first point is that really the mind, all of it – it works just like a computer. If you have a virus in your computer, it doesn’t matter what programs or information you put into the computer. The computer won’t operate correctly until you remove the virus. With our mind, the feelings are the same way. They’re like a virus, so all the times when we suppress our anger, our fear – we push them down into subconscious, and they operate just like a virus. They affect everything that’s going on in our lives. If you start reversing that process, you start cleaning up that computer – you don’t have to put any positive programs in there. Just by cleaning it out, it just operates smoothly and efficiently. The second point is also what we have covered – is that the mind deals in pictures, not words. Like I said, if I say, “Don’t fall down,” your mind goes right to the picture of falling down. Or if I say, “Don’t think of a monkey,” what pops in your mind?

‏‏Big, fat monkey.

‏‏Yeah. Once we start paying attention to that than what we’re actually holding in our mind, we can start seeing how oftentimes we’re holding the wrong thing in mind. Really that leaves it up to you to start examining your thinking and correcting it. With this tool, then you can start letting go of that negativity and naturally hold the right thing in mind without having to program yourself to do it. You just do it automatically.

‏‏You know how you said that the mind is about pictures and metaphors – what I heard was that emotions equals viruses. Negative emotions equal viruses. When I think about negative emotions (my anger, my disgust), I don’t see it as a virus. I see it as something that is contrast to the good emotions and something that gives me feedback, like without being angry, I would not know that I am in not a good place. I agree with you that when emotions become toxic and they start consuming you, then it is more like a virus.

‏‏Yeah. What you say is true. Really what those emotions are doing is they’re pointing out to you some negativity that you’re holding onto, so they can direct you to start moving in the right direction.

‏‏Yeah, especially for women. We have so many emotions, and sometimes, the most annoying that I can hear from a male will be, “You are so emotional,” because yes, we are – women are – we are connected to our emotions. We feel everything in such a strong way. The good, the bad – our emotions are very, very heightened. It’s just the way we are wired. When I work with my clients, I teach them to love their emotions, to love the anger, to love their disgust, to use it as a tool to channel it in the right way, to allow it to be there, and then move through it.

‏‏Yeah. You’re exactly right. Your approach is perfect. That’s it. When we’re talking about emotions, a lot of times, we are on automatic with them, so they control us. We get out of control with them. The difference is – what I’m talking about is when you let go, you’re really letting go of your attachment and your aversion to your emotions so that you’re no longer being controlled by them and that you have free will to use them as you wish and let them go the moment you wish.

‏‏Right.

‏‏Something that is beyond emotions is love. I wouldn’t even classify love as an emotion. Love is more of an is-ness, a be-ness. It’s something greater, whereas emotions kind of come and go. Love is something that’s all-expansive.

‏‏I love that.

‏‏Yeah. The more you let go of your attachments and aversions to the emotions, you’re just coming from a loving place, and it is the most juiciest, joyous place. Then you can have your emotions if you want, but you’re in charge. That’s the difference.

‏‏Nice. I wanted to ask you for a practical way to use the method. For example, I live in Sta. Monica, L.A. We have the most traffic out of all the states, and people here are not gentle on the roads. They are mean, and they cut you off. Every time I’m driving, I have all sorts of emotions happening to me – not always, but there are some people that are super dangerous, mean, or aggressive on the road. How do you deal – somebody cut you off in a way that you’re like, “Oh my god. I just saw my life – I saw my death.” They’re doing that, and how do you not react? What do you do instantly in the moment to be cool about it?

‏‏Okay. Very simply, just like I did before, saying Yes to it. If somebody cut you off and they almost run you off the road, you have a bunch of fear and anger – one, you can get on automatic, and you start chasing him down. Or you can be afraid and you want to get off the road.

‏‏Not a good idea. Do not do that. That’s dangerous.

‏‏I know. I came from Texas. That’s not gonna work. But if you say Yes to it and you let it go – now, I’m gonna say something that – or point in the direction, rather, that’s a little bit far out. When you say Yes, ultimately, what you may discover is that everything is your picture. You can start examining your thinking and what you’re creating in a way of, “Hey, where did I create that person to come do that?” What you’ll see is that fear that comes up or whatever emotion that comes up is the very thing that pulled it right in on you.

‏‏Yeah.

‏‏When you release it, then that stuff doesn’t happen anymore.

‏‏How do you release it?

‏‏Well, let me share something else that’s even more far out than that. When Lester went free, he was living in New York City at the time, and in this free state, life is totally harmonious and abundant. Lester, living in New York City, in the middle of Manhattan, never hit a red light ever, in the city. Wherever he wanted to park, he always had a parking spot. Policeman and taxicab drivers would actually jump in their car, vacate a spot, so he could have it. They didn’t know why. It just felt good to them. Whenever he would hit some of those bridges that are totally backed up, even though cars didn’t have anywhere to go, they would just part like the Red Sea and he’d just drive right on through.

‏‏That sounds like a story!

‏‏Well, that’s what I said. It’s pretty far out, but that’s where he’s coming from. That is what I wanna direct us towards. When we are looking at letting go of our emotions is getting into that position of harmony and real power, being a creator. It starts by taking responsibility. Where did I create that to happen? Where did I pull that in on me? You may find your feeling or what you hold in your mind, and proving to yourself when you let that go, all that stuff in the world stops – all those bad happenings stop. It’s evidence. You really get to be your own scientist, proving it to yourself.

‏‏That’s amazing. What do I do in the moment when that happen, like right there and then?

‏‏Like I said, you could just start by saying Yes. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The whole course that I’ve been teaching now for 14 years – if it was just saying Yes, it’d be a pretty simple course. This is just a very small sample of it, but what it does is it gives you all the tools. What it gives you is the ability to pull this stuff out by the roots, so you really see the underlying causes of your negativity, of your bad emotions, of the bad creations that you’re doing, and you’ll see right at the root of where in that you’re causing it. You could take it out right by the roots. That’s the best thing about the method, and that’s why Lester was able to free himself in just three months, going from what he admitted was having the most noisiest mind anybody could have, being a scientist, to totally emptying it. We all can do it.

‏‏What’s your definition of happiness?

‏‏It’s who you are. It’s just you being you. It’s that simple. You are happiness.

‏‏I was interviewed on the Alpha Female podcast right now, just before I interviewed you for mine. I was asked the same question of what I think happiness is. When I think about happiness, I think about a little girl on the beach who’s picking up a shell and being super, super happy about it because when she has that shell in her hand, she doesn’t think about, “Oh my god. I hope other people will tell me that my shell is valuable, and it’s really a good shell. Oh my god, I wish somebody will come and play with me.” She’s just there in the moment, with no attachment, with no expectations, just really enjoying the gift, and she’s in a state of awe and gratitude and connected to the fabric of creation and the magnificence of the moment. I think this is for me true happiness.

‏‏It is. Yeah. Exactly. Happiness is beingness. Just being. No thought. No thought of past or future. Just being in the moment, with the shell.

‏‏With the shell. Amazing. Before we finish, what are your three top tips to living a stellar life?

‏‏First, let go of disapproving of yourself. That’s the first thing because we all do it. It’s a choice that we all do. You could catch yourself doing it, and make a decision to just drop it, like just dropping a hot pocket. If I put a hot iron in your hand, you wouldn’t stand there holding on to it. You just open up and let it go. Let go of doing that because we all have a tendency to do it right at the drop of a hat, so if something doesn’t go our way, bam. Beat myself up. I lost my keys. Bam! Beat myself up. I just made a fool out of myself in front of somebody. Beat myself up. We can catch ourselves and plan to let that go. The second tip is now reverse it. Go in a positive direction by giving yourself love and approval for no reason. Just because. Then the third tip is of course what we’ve been talking about most of the evening is letting go of wanting. Literally letting go of wanting so that you can have. It’s the direct route to having.

‏‏Wonderful. Wonderful. Where can people find you and learn more about you and about the method and about working with you?

‏‏Come to the powerofquiet.com. That’s my website. Powerofquiet.com. You can put in your name and email address in there, and I’ll send you some videos, some training videos, where I start walking you through a series of steps that take you deeper and deeper into the process, where you really get a sense of the whole picture of it all.

‏‏Very nice. Thank you so much, Kris. This was a wonderful conversation.

‏‏Thank you so much. It’s such a joy being here with you.

Your Checklist Actions to Take

✓ Whenever you encounter frustration in life, remember to use the following 4-step technique that reduces and eliminates negativity.

✓ Step 1: Rate the level of frustration on a scale of 0-10 with ten being the most frustrating and zero being the least frustrating.

✓ Step 2: Muster the strength not to say no to the feeling of frustration and realize that saying no won’t make the negativity go away.

✓ Step 3: Internalize the kind of frustration you are feeling and accept it;try saying yes to the feeling generated by the frustration.

✓ Step 4: Keep in mind that yes is positive and no is negative. Notice that by saying yes to the frustration your level of negativity goes down. Keep going until the feeling is eliminated.

✓ Stop disapproving of yourself by giving yourself the love and approval you need and deserve.

✓ Understand that judgement is wanting to change things, so release judgement and let in its opposite which is acceptance.

✓ Develop the ability to empty your mind and stay in a quiet state. This will help you find the answers, if not peace of mind.

✓ Understand that as a woman, you are wired to be emotional. It’s ok to express your emotions but also learn how and when it’s best to let go.

✓ Be present with what is going on with your consciousness. Everything from the past will also be there, and you can deal with it all now.
