The brain is the most powerful part of your body, and with great power comes great responsibility. It’s normal to feel stuck at some point in your life. We’ve all experienced struggle and trauma enough to wear us down or change our perspective. So when you come to a challenging point, it pays to have a few “mind tricks” up your sleeve to help you overcome any situation.
With proper care and nutrition, your brainpower can immensely improve. Not in a “transform into a human encyclopedia” kind of way, but into a “develop a better mindset and outlook in life” way.
According to my Stellar Life Podcast guest Bill Donius, everybody has the power to unlock their inner genius you just have to find the key!
To start your search, he shared four great tips.
1. Learn how to “unlearn”. Oftentimes our ideations and beliefs change. It’s important to accept that what may have worked for you in the past might no longer serve you. It’s important to welcome new and diverse information with curiosity and an open mind.
2. Avoid repeating the same strategies if you’re looking for different results. “There must be some other way” is a great phrase to say whenever you’re feeling stuck. Instead of focusing on the problem, take a step back to see the bigger picture. Maybe there’s a hidden path in front of you waiting to be discovered.
3. Revisit your inner child. A child’s brain is so pure and innocent that whenever you go back to specific great childhood memories, you instantly get that tingly nostalgic feeling. That’s because the right side of the brain is more active when in “play” mode. Revisiting memories of the things you loved doing activates your creative thinking, helping you think out of the box more as an adult.
4. Try writing with your non-dominant hand. Doing this is a great way to stimulate the brain- similar to a good workout According to Bill, there’s a scientific basis behind this. He’s used this technique on his clients and helped them reduce their stress, discover hidden talents, and develop their spiritual awareness.
These are just some of the tips I learned from Bill. He’s a business coach and better known as the Ideation Facilitator because his job is to help people discover the path that will cultivate their inner genius. To discover more of Bill’s wisdom, tune in to his episode on my Stellar Life Podcast.
