A Personal Note from Orion
Do you want to level up your meditation skills? Chakra meditations are a great way to evolve to the next level. By practicing chakra meditations, you cleanse and balance the energy of your chakra system. It is all about focusing on each chakra, from root to crown, to control and restore the energy that flows through them.
In today’s Stellar Experience episode, Marci Shimoff guides you through a chakra meditation that focuses on the seven main energy centers in your body. Each chakra is a power point of energy on the surface of your body. These points spin like vortexes, pulling the outer or ‘universal’ energies to your most inner points to align, balance, and ease the physical, metaphysical and mental systems in and around the body.
Marci Shimoff is a #1 NY Times bestselling author, a world-renowned transformational teacher, and an expert on happiness, success, and unconditional love. About Today’s Show
I want to do a meditation that focuses on the chakras. The chakras are the subtle energy centers in the body. There are seven main chakras and there are many others as well, but I want to focus on the seven main energy centers in our subtle body that really support us. Through this meditation, we’re going to open to them, we’re going to be infusing the energy of each chakra. If you would please get comfortable and we put a visual on the screen of the seven chakras, but you can have your eyes closed for this. If you would please close your eyes, take some nice deep breaths, and just settle into where you are.
Let’s start by doing a couple of rounds of central channel breathing. Imagine that you’re breathing in, inhaling from one foot above your head, breathing and down to the crown, down through the crown of your head and all the way down into the soles of your feet. Then, exhale out the bottom of your feet into the center of the earth allowing all of your exhale to go to the center of the earth. Now, inhale from the center of the earth up through your feet, up through your whole body, up to your crown, and exhale all the way up from your crown through the top of your head and up into the sky.
Now inhale in from high above you, the energy flowing down through the crown, through the center channel of your body to your feet. Now, exhale out the bottom of your feet into the ground, into the earth. On the next inhale, you could do Mula Bandha, inhaling fully from the earth, up through your feet, through your body, up to your crown and exhaling out the crown of your head. The energy going high, high above you. Relaxing Mula Bandha. Relaxing your body even more.
Now imagine that you are inside your body and you’re at your root chakra at the base of your spine. Connect in with that energy of your root chakra. The color is red. Connect in with that color red. Imagine it growing, expanding through the whole area of the root chakra.
The role of your root chakra is to help you feel grounded, safe, and secure. They give you a strong foundation in your life. It’s also the source of our sense of financial well-being and security. It’s all about feeling grounded, supported by Mother Earth. Receive this energy of safety, groundedness, support. Imagine that color red flowing and vibrating. The sound for this chakra is the sound Lam. Lam. Lam.
You can imagine that sound. You can silently say that sound to yourself or you can say it out loud. The statement is I am safe. The affirmation I am safe. Allow yourself to feel more grounded, safer, and more secure in your root chakra. Beautiful.
Now imagine that you’re bowing and thanking your root chakra for all the ways that it supports you. Just bring inner gratitude and acknowledgment to your root chakra.
The role of your root chakra is to help you feel grounded, safe, and secure.
Now, imagine that there’s a tube of white light and it goes from your root chakra up to your second chakra, which is in your womb area. You travel up this tube of white light. It’s not long-distance, but you travel up this tube of white light to your second chakra. There, you connect with the energy of your second chakra, which is the color orange.
Feel the orange vibrating and expanding. This is about the energy of vitality, aliveness, creativity, of birth. It’s the womb. Literally, where beings are born out of our bodies and it is the womb of ideas, creativity is also flowing. The sound is Vam. Vam. Vam. You can say that out loud or to yourself. Allowing this energy, the orange, the energy of creativity and vitality to expand. Your affirmation is I am vital. Allow yourself to feel your vitality, your juiciness, your creativity. Great.
Now, imagine that you bow to your second chakra in gratitude for all that it does to support and serve you.
Now, you get inside the tube of white light. You travel up to your third chakra, which is in your solar plexus area. There, you greet your third chakra, which is the color yellow—imagining the yellow to expand, to vibrate, to pulse. This is your center of personal power, your sense of identity in the world. It’s also the place of self-love and self-worthiness. The sound is Ram. Ram. Ram. Allow that energy, the yellow, the sound Ram, the sense of worthiness, allow that to expand. Great.
Now, imagine that you bow to your third chakra in gratitude for the energy that supports you. You get in that tube of white light, and you travel up from your third chakra to your heart, the center of your fourth chakra. There, you reside, settle in with your attention into your fourth chakra, which is a beautiful emerald green color.
The fourth chakra has everything to do with giving and receiving love. Allow that emerald green to expand throughout your heart. Allow it to support you more in giving and receiving love and being loved. The sound is Yam. Yam. Yam. You can say to yourself, I am love. I am love, allowing that energy of love to expand throughout your heart.
Now, bow in gratitude to your fourth chakra for its beautiful love and service to you. Get back into that tube of white light and you travel up to your throat chakra, your fifth chakra. You greet this chakra which is the color blue. Beautiful blue. Your throat chakra allows you to express yourself authentically in life. It lets your true voice be heard, to be honored, to be acknowledged. It also allows for listening to others, being able to communicate in a true and authentic way. The sound is Ham. Ham. Ham. Allow that energy to expand.
The throat chakra is also about divine will. I am one with divine will and I speak my authentic truth. Allow yourself to bow in gratitude to your throat chakra.
This beautiful circuit flows, all of your chakras are balanced and working together. They each have their role, but they form this beautiful team, this beautiful circuit of energy. This energy is always here to support you, and your greatest unfolding.
Once again, get into the tube of white light and travel from your throat chakra to your third eye, between your eyebrows, where you meet your sixth chakra, the color indigo with a deeper bluish purple. This is your center of vision, wisdom, of intuition. Allow this indigo color to expand as you say or just listen to the sound Sham. Sham. Sham. The statement of affirmation is ‘I am one with the truth. I am one with the truth.’
Now, bow to your sixth chakra in gratitude for how it has served and continues to serve you. One last time, you get into that tube of white light and you travel up to your crown chakra, the top of your head. There you meet the color violet. Beautiful violet color. Your crown chakra allows you to feel your connection to the divine, your sense of oneness. The spirit guides you, your connectedness to all things. Receive that energy. You might be feeling some sensation. Sometimes people feel tingling or you may be just feeling of calmness, just notice how you feel as you receive the energy of the crown chakra. The sound is Om. Om. Om. The statement is I am divine. Now, imagine bowing in gratitude to your seventh chakra for all that it does to serve you.
Finally, imagine that there’s a circuit of energy that goes from the top of your head, down the front of your body, and at the perineum that crosses back underneath your body, and goes to the back of your spine and it flows up the back of your spine, across the crown of your head. It starts going down again in front of you, creating a circle passing through to the back of you up to your spine, across your crown and then down again. This whole circuit flows from the top of your head to your root chakra, back to the top of your head. This beautiful circuit flows, all of your chakras are balanced and working together. They each have their role, but they form this beautiful team, this beautiful circuit of energy. This energy is always here to support you, and your greatest unfolding.
May you move forward feeling this flow of energy within your system, supporting in living your most miraculous life. For this beautiful energy, we give thanks and so it is. Take some nice deep breaths, and when you feel ready, you can stretch some and you can slowly open your eyes.
