A Personal Note From Orion
Welcome to another enlightening episode of Stellar Life! This week, I’m thrilled to chat with Beth Martens, an exceptional archetype, purpose, and business coach who brings a wealth of wisdom to our conversation.
Beth shares her incredible journey, marked by a near-death experience during a battle with cancer, which led her to profound realizations about life, freedom, and purpose. She’ll talk us through the powerful distinction between high-frequency energy and life itself and why understanding this subtle difference is key to tapping into true power. We’ll explore Beth’s unique take on archetypes—not merely as fixed entities but as blueprints and potentials that reveal our personal and collective patterns.
One of the highlights of our discussion is Beth’s approach to manifesting dreams by shedding pre-programmed notions and engaging in healing work, allowing action and creativity to flow naturally. She also emphasizes the importance of calling on God rather than external entities and tuning into one’s inner calling for guidance.
Beth will walk us through the stages of the hero’s journey, outlining eight key archetypes and their roles, from the initial “Child” to the transformative “King” and “Alchemist.” Her insights on the dynamic nature of these archetypes and their alignment with life’s challenges provide a structured pathway to personal growth and freedom. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the show!

About Today’s Show
Hey, Beth. Welcome to the Stellar Life podcast. Thank you so much for being here.
Thank you so much for having me. It’s really nice to meet you as well.
Yeah, nice to meet you. I love what you’re doing in the world. I’m very curious about your whole methodology with the archetypes. Before we begin, maybe you can tell us a little bit about yourself and what brought you to the work that you’re doing today.
So, more than 20 years ago, going on 25 years ago, I worked with my family’s firm in the corporate world. I liked the work, but it was killing me because the corporate environment is punishing, mean, nameless and faceless. Instead of gracefully getting out of it by telling my family, “I can’t do this anymore. It’s not in alignment with me.” I unconsciously made myself sick with stage four lymphoma. It turned into an emergency, and then I had to leave, which was what I wanted, but that’s not how I wanted to leave. I spent three years fighting for my life, doing everything I could possibly imagine or relate to natural vice.
To manifest your dreams, release the pre-programmed notions holding you back. Through healing, you'll unlock inspiration for action and boundless creativity. Share on XI was trying very hard to get natural care and avoid all the chemotherapy and radiation cutting and all of that kind of thing. And then, after, did you manage to avoid chemotherapy? Not in the end. I didn’t know. After a year of various treatments, I moved across the country and worked with the naturopath there, who has a lot of experience helping people with cancer successfully. When I started to decline slightly again, I went up a little bit. When I started to decline again, he suggested I go back and do the conventional therapies because Hodgkin lymphoma is considered not to be deadly the first time around. So, I took his advice. I came back, and I went through reams and reams of chemotherapy, and that nearly killed me. I had a near-death experience doing that.
In that near-death experience, I actually went into remission. I received a healing in that experience. And then I started to recover. I started to get better. But for all the chemotherapy that I had, I couldn’t get past it. So, in 18 months, I was diagnosed again a second time. That’s when the doctors decided that I was going to die.
That’s statistically what happens on a second diagnosis. They offered me a stem cell transplant, which is a very brutal, gory procedure, if anybody’s familiar with that, that half the people die doing. So when I heard that stat, I realized that it was my time to face death one way or the other. I needed to decide if I was going to do this awful treatment, that I would be in isolation for a year, at least to begin with.
I decided, “You know what, if cancer is going to kill me, I’ll take that rather than this other awful treatment.” That was the time when I was introduced to using archetypes as a way to go inside myself and find what was actually killing me because I was doing everything for my health and even psychologically and spiritually and literally every possible energy work and all the supplements and, you name it, balneotherapy and ozone injections, and on and on it went. But I was still a dying person. So I thought, “Well, here I am, doing everything right. There’s something I’m not seeing.”
When I started to journey with archetypes and to bring up from the unconscious what was inside of me, I saw how one archetype, in particular, was extremely out of alignment. I had suppressed it intensely. I know now that it takes a great deal of energy to suppress parts of ourselves, especially at the archetypal level, because that’s the blueprint, that’s sacred purpose.
I just took my foot and put it on the head of the rebel archetype in particular and said, “No more. You’re out of my life. We’re breaking up. It’s over.” And then, behold, that part of myself wasn’t to be put away. It doesn’t work that way. When you try to suppress any archetype, you want to say, “Lash back.” It’s not really like that. It pushes back. Anything that you resist resists back. What you resist persists. So it expressed only in its shadow, trying desperately to get my attention.
Anything that you resist resists back.
I talk about it like it’s something separate from you. It’s not. It’s just more convenient to separate them for the sake of discussion. Once I discovered that, I was able to see that part of myself, reclaim that part of myself, and begin reawakening to my rebel in a way that wasn’t mired in the shadows. And next thing you know, I turned around in concordance with facing my death and being at peace with that and just saying, “Okay, if it’s now God, I’m going to come peacefully.” And then those two things combined. I went from being a dying person to a living person practically overnight, and the doctors were amazed.
I quit all of the medical system pretty much forever. I’ve literally been to maybe one or two appointments over the last 20 years for a little this or that. So, I took it into my own hands at that point and spent still several months, probably years, maybe even now, detoxing from all of that poison that I took in. But nonetheless, I turned the corner and began to thrive. That’s when I decided that I was never going back to the corporate world.
I also knew that I couldn’t just get a job because I was born and raised by entrepreneurs. I saw the freedom of your own movement in life, schedule, and content. I just started my own business, going slowly, teaching contemplative arts, meditation, and yoga because I’ve been to India eight times, and it seemed like a good time to come out with something like that.
So that’s where I began. It’s evolved over time into a coaching practice where I now teach people how to use the archetypes and deprogramming system to find inside themselves what is draining their life energy at the root cause. I know people say that all the time these days. “Oh, finding the root, finding the root.” But this truly is at that energetic blueprint level, finding inside yourself what is cooperating with death as opposed to going with life, and that’s how I came to be an archetype and deprogramming coach. I also train coaches now.
That inspired me to create my coach certification training. I’m now running my 6th training, which I thought was going to happen maybe a decade or two later, but God said, “It’s now.” And I also have a podcast that I host people. I had an awakening to my masculine, feminine archetype, seeing how being born and raised in a feminist era that was encouraging women to hate men, I took it on. I owned that stuff in a really sad way and then started my podcast in 2015 to redeem myself. That’s where I’m at right now.
From what you told me, I have so many questions, but I want to go backward with them. I’m very curious about the story because I recently read the book by Anita Moorjani, Dying to Be Me. She had stage four cancer with no chance of survival. She went through a near-death experience and really healed within three weeks from that. Something miraculous that they never heard of. What was your near-death experience like?
Well, I’ve been fighting for my life, doing everything possible, remaining positive, and staying upbeat. I was meditating. There came a point again that I was getting more and more sick, especially from the chemotherapy by this point, because it’s such an onslaught of poison to the body. It kills from the inside, and that’s meant to kill the cancer. Of course, that’s the theory why it works. But in the meantime, you’re complete. You’re dying inside, you’re becoming totally toxic, and every system is compromised by that so incrementally.
Over the first eleven months of chemotherapy, I lost my strength. I lost my ability to even walk down the street and take care of myself. I ended up living with my parents. They were looking after me, and day by day, I would lose some function or another. There was a time when I could at least sit up and sing to raise my spirits. I couldn’t do that anymore. I couldn’t use my hands anymore to do anything. Then, a night came, and I wrote about this in my book, which I have a copy of here. And a day came that turned into a night.
I decided that I wasn’t going to fight with death anymore, that I had been fighting and fighting and fighting, and I decided I was just going to let that fight go. I surrendered completely to death. I went into a void and out the other side into a state of joy. So this was a very big shock to me because I thought I was going to cease to exist. Who knows? Everybody has their version of the afterlife. I had a strong belief in immortality at that point that I wouldn’t die. But when I came face to face with death, it wasn’t the mantras and the beliefs and all of that kind of stuff didn’t touch it. It was literally powerless.
So, I couldn’t just be positive. But the discovery on the other side was so remarkable to me that there I was, having lost everything. I lost my job and my house, and I ended up having to sell them to pay medical bills. I lost the majority of my friends. I gave away my cats. All my possessions were gone. My body was nearly gone. And there I was with nothing. But I was completely full of joy.
The true gifts lie in accepting the calling—in embracing the immense power that comes from being close to nature and nurturing a direct relationship with God. Share on XI learned a very powerful lesson at that moment, which I call joy, but it was more like freedom. That freedom does not depend on anything. Joy is still a very high state frequency. This is a whole different topic. I talk about ascension myth-busting, but freedom is the most potent factor. I saw how it depends on nothing.
Yeah, no attachment, non-duality.
Exactly. So, I came back from that experience. I knew I was in remission. I asked the doctors to run a test. They confirmed that my cancer was gone. The only problem is that they say that you have to keep on doing the treatments. I refused them. I said, “No.” But in 18 months, again, I knew that I had cancer. The doctors took some tests. They said, “No, you don’t.” I’m like, “Yeah, I do. I know what that feels like now.” And then another month later, they confirmed it. And so the journey went on. But, yeah, that was the near-death experience.
How did you change as a person after having cancer? What changed in you? What set of beliefs were already gone? What got stronger in you, in your psyche, and in your heart?
My alignment with life as opposed to death was the biggest change.
Well, my alignment with life as opposed to death was the biggest change. I’m still working on that. I’ll let you know. We live in a death cult. We’re indoctrinated with death at every level.
What does that mean?
It means that we have an experience of scarcity and lack, and we have a financial system based on debt. We are mostly driven by fear. Children generally are raised out of fear. “Don’t do that. You’re going to die.” During the pandemic, they say, “Oh, boogeyman virus is going around. You’re going to die if you don’t get this poison injection, and you don’t put a muzzle on your face, and you don’t stay away from all your loved ones,” and all of that kind of thing.
So, people accept that because they already run death programming. The less you run death programming, the less vulnerable you are to being scared by others or by yourself or circumstances or whatever it is. That definitely changed the distinction between life and death. Everything changed. In the end, it has been a complete turnaround. I had the revelation, and I’m still working on implementing this, but I had the revelation again that it requires nothing to be fulfilled.
So we go through life trying to accomplish this and do that and be recognized for this. Even answering the soul’s calling, all of that is trying to fill up an empty cup. But it turns out the cup is not empty at all. It’s already full. We’re already free. We just don’t know it. We don’t have that direct experience all the time. Everybody has some experience of that. But again, due to the programming, it can be very elusive, and it has no frequency.
There’s nothing to hang on to. And even just using the word freedom doesn’t really say anything. We just can share that word because we have a common experience, even if it’s momentary. So, yeah, everything changed for me.
So you said you found one of the archetypes. You dove in. You found a part of you that was suppressed or more in its shadow, and that helps you rise. So, before we dive in, what are the archetypes? Maybe you can just take me through the archetypes and share a little bit about it.
Okay, I would like to share this because my experience of archetypes is different from, say, Carl Jung, who is famous and credited for discovering them. Whether that’s true or not, I feel like Carl Jung was an elite of his time, and chances are he was being controlled in his profession. Nonetheless, he thought of archetypes. As a kind of entity that could be, like, demonic or maybe angelic, I’m sure. I don’t think he used those words around it, but my discovery is that they are not entities. Rather, they’re more like blueprints. They’re in potential, and they represent the order of our world or universe, whether you want to use that phrase or not. I’m not sure exactly what that means.
That order exists at every level, despite how incredibly chaotic our world can seem, especially where you are right now. And so the order is a very beautiful thing because if you feel like it’s just chaos in your life, then you have no place to begin the work of freedom. But by using the archetypes as a map to find patterns, you might know you have problems. You know, you have struggles that certain things don’t go the way you want them to go.
But once you see the archetypal patterns, then it narrows the problem down, and you can be very precise and go right into those particular shadows. And once you learn, say, the shadows and gifts of an archetype, then you’re able to explore. You’ll get more information because this has been a topic for, you know, how long, I don’t know, centuries. The timelines are all messy to talk about, too, because normal people didn’t write history.
Once you see the archetypal patterns, you can narrow the problem down and be very precise in solving them.
But nonetheless, they are, to me, very enduring patterns. And so once I can see somebody is the rebel, then they act like I can read their mind. Now, that’s just one of the eight archetypes that I work with. There’s actually more in addition to that. There are 13 in total, but only eight on the hero’s journey. And so we can get to know ourselves. This is the biggest problem we have. We don’t know ourselves.
We’re only aware of the smallest fraction of the layers of our human experience. You know, some people are literally not aware of what they do. And when you say, “Hey, why did you do that?” They’re like, “I didn’t do that.” So, “No, no, you just did that.” Or they’ll say something, and you say, “Well, why did you say that?” And they’re like, “I didn’t say that.” Right. They’re literally not aware of it. Most people are not quite that dissociated, but they might not be aware of their thinking patterns and actually hear how they may be working against you in a self-talk way.
I know, as a coach, you probably get that, and some people are aware of their emotions, but there are many people who are not aware of their emotions. Meaning they can’t feel for one reason or another. And it’s usually due to trauma that made them numb. That is an emotion on the scale. It’s called apathy, where there’s no feeling at all and no caring at all. So many people are unconscious of their emotional world, and even a layer deeper than that is going to be the programming, which the vast majority of people are not going to be aware of because until you go looking for it and you decide that you’re going to break ground in your own unconscious, then you’re not going to see the nature of the program, but it’s there. So, it’s the same with archetypes. It’s invisible until you see it, and then it goes off in Technicolor.
You see it in yourself, you see it in other people, you see it in a video. You’re just watching, and you can hear the tones of how they’re speaking through different voices that are distinctly archetypal and consistent, ridiculously consistent. It makes me happy they are so consistent because it’s always a discovery. And so it creates a kind of map for you to be able to follow. Now, one of the things that happened to me, or two things, in a way. In 2015, my father passed away. That’s when I went very deep inside. And it was a kind of vigil.
The archetypes help you know who you are, but the hero’s journey helps you know where you are.
Day after day after day. I felt like a lot of healing had happened, but it wiped me clean, and I didn’t know who I was anymore. I had no idea how to go back to my work. My work has a public face to it. I couldn’t relate to where I was at. I was a completely changed being. So, every night. Every night, I go into vigil asking God, “Okay, what next? What’s going to happen here?” And that’s when I started to, I’ll say, “Download.”
Who knows about that? I’m just using that word maybe as a euphemism, but that’s when archetypal energy started to appear to me. It actually could have been demons. I don’t know. I can’t prove it. But at every turn, you can use and take anything that might be of a nefarious nature, and you can turn it into something good. I think, in retrospect, that’s what happened once I saw the archetypes. And it wasn’t until about two years later that my mum passed away. It was on the heels of my dad’s passing that I started to think about my archetypes more as a journey rather than just random archetypes.
They were meaningful, but together, I hadn’t seen how they actually fit. And so when I had that suggestion that they might be the hero’s journey based on another body of work, I looked at my archetypes, and within minutes, there it was. A meaningful order of archetypes that made up the hero’s journey itself is archetypal as well. So, every person is going through the hero’s journey, and you can’t avoid it. Even if you’re avoiding it, that’s still a stage on the hero’s journey. When I discovered this meaningful map, I began to test it on people. I saw where I was at. Right.
So, the archetypes help you know who you are, but the hero’s journey helps you know where you are. It gives you context. What’s behind you? Maybe what was left behind needs to be cleaned up, and what’s ahead of you that you’re reaching for. And so it quickens the process. So the archetypes are a good map, and then coupled with the deprogramming process, they are a very, very fast path to awakening, if you want to call it that.
That’s amazing. So, which one was your archetype that you had to handle in order to heal?
Primarily, at the beginning, it was the rebel archetype, and it was a very big part of it. If you like, I could go through the hero’s journey so that you can see it. And I’ll throw in a few things. This is in my book as well. And so everything begins with the child. That is the beginning of everything. It is the calling. That’s when God is saying, “Hey, you’re here for a reason.
Your life is full of purpose. Are you coming?” And so the child in the shadow might say, “No, God, I’m not coming. You can’t make me. It’s too dangerous.” I’m going to hide under the covers and go into denial and pretend I don’t have a calling, maybe just go along to get along. The child fears betrayal. They fear abandonment in their shadows. And at the root of that is that fear of dying that can drive them very strongly.
The gifts are accepting the calling and receiving the immense power of being close up with nature and having a direct relationship with God. So there’s no middle person or interloper you can go directly to. And that moves them forward in the journey to the rebel archetype. So that’s the second one where I had a lot of my struggles, or I discovered a lot of struggles. And so the rebel who has a cause is awakened. So, the purposeful rebel is entirely different from the purposeless rebel, whom you call the rebel without a cause. You’ve probably heard that phrase before. The rebel without a cause will want to fight instead of work.
They create chaos and create conflict. Love change. But the shadow rebel is going to make changes just to avoid heavy work and do something that has got consistency and focus. And that shadow rebel is going to fight in every direction just as a way to keep the energy up in anger. For the most part, they get slowly poisoned by anger, even though it feels good, especially because the child used to default to the lower emotions of apathy, grief and fear.
The shadow rebel is going to make changes just to avoid heavy work and do something that has consistency and focus.
So once the rebel gets through lust and anger, it’s easy to get attached to that fake power that they have. And in order to transit to the next archetype, they need to call on the warrior. The warrior’s gifts are discipline and being able to stay the course, having the endurance to be able to build for the future, building out infrastructure, and doing that hard muscle work.
And so when the rebel graduates from that shadow place, they become a champion for others. The warrior is vulnerable to not having discipline, not doing the work, and backsliding to the rebel. But if they don’t and they become selfless in that process of realizing that they can stand up not just for themselves but for others, then it moves them forward into the nurturer stage. The nurturer is very big in my world.
That was also very big in the health struggle that I had 25 years ago because I was busy trying to look after my family’s business, but I was doing it at a total cost to myself. And so I actually just ran a course on the nurturer because it’s so big in my world. There’s nobody who comes through my work that doesn’t struggle with that. And so the nurturer is beautifully gifted with generosity and loyalty and the will to really support others. However, the Shadows lack boundaries when they say that in the business world, they provide a lot of services, but they don’t charge enough to take care of their needs.
They get stuck on whether I should help them or help myself. The duality is a total false illusion but feels real when you’re in it. And once you are able to grow into clean boundaries, that moves you forward on the journey to the second half of the journey, where it’s not going to be as much about the ego anymore, which is not bad. That’s not a bad thing. That’s just like your eyes or your ears or your nose. I treat it to be a creation of God, not wrong. But this is the time to transition from the ego to the soul of the journey. And so the lover has a strong value for truth and beauty. There are a lot of lovers in the truth community.
Suppressing parts of ourselves takes immense energy, especially at the archetypal level, for it’s a denial of our sacred purpose. Share on XA great deal of them come up as lovers. They are the ones that are going to make life worth living and always point out, even in the ugly things, they’re going to be able to find and point out the beauty that is of superpower. But they are vulnerable to being obsessive and compulsive. So, if you, again, are just using the truth community as an example, how many have made themselves miserable by just trying to uncover one lie and the next lie and the next lie and the next lie and the next lie and the next lie and the next lie and the next lie and the next.
And our controllers don’t mind because they keep feeding us the next lie and the next lie, and they get trapped in that cycle where they’re never really finding the truth; they’re only finding lies again. You come to your calling. The purpose is the elixir for every single archetype. And this is where the calling becomes less about me and how I can help people. And it becomes between me and God, direct again, or me and the soul.
So you start to create from that place, and you are tasked not to hide out and try to get it perfect before anybody sees you. But to go and be part of the fabric of life and offer what you have and get that reflection so that it can be an organic, growing entity or not. Entity is the wrong way to say it, but development inside yourself. And that moves you forward into the hedonist archetype. I’m on a mission to reclaim the hedonist because there’s no positive word for this one. If you call someone a hedonist, they’re not going to thank you for that. But to me, pleasure is a direct path to the divine on the awakened side. It is also a massive trap and one that is hugely weaponized against us because they know that we are pleasure-seeking as a way to escape our realities, to escape our pain.
And so, as with every archetype, it can go both directions. And if the hedonist finds the most deep and subtle pleasure of purpose, then it moves them forward into the king archetype. So, the king is not vulnerable like the hedonist was to that addiction to pleasure, but the king is vulnerable to the addiction to power. And we can see this in our world. We have a lot of tyrants as examples to see what happens when they just run amok. And do whatever they want. And they’re on a feeding frenzy like predators, and nothing will stop them if they don’t get stopped. And so the king is tasked with deep self-reflection, taking reflection from their own kingdom and from people so they can continue to learn and grow.
The awakened king has a strong relationship with God because there are very few who would counsel the king by the time they get to that place in their life. And if they overcome the perils of power, they have to call on the alchemist, which is the so-called last archetype of the hero’s journey. And so the alchemist is a counselor to the king. They are the ones that, from behind the scenes, can give advice to the king so the king can stay on a straight path and not get drunk on power. And the alchemist stage of the journey is the most complex of all. It’s where you find the gifts of perfect timing. Some people would say it is a flow state or consciousness. I don’t even say that very much anymore.
They are amazing creators and visioners who can create something out of absolutely nothing. I think the way that I went to work for myself after surviving cancer is a good example of that. There’s no one on earth who does what I do. Even if they work with archetypes and they maybe have some deep programming tools, they could not reproduce what I do. And so we are all, in fact, unique. And the alchemist knows how to capitalize on that exact fact, and they know that.
And I think you said this before we started to talk about it, or it was another conversation. Forgive me, but we get split up into all kinds of different pieces, and it’s usually because of pain in our psyche. And so if you take the example of a child that went through a trauma of some kind, then if they didn’t have the nervous system and the ability and the support to go through that pain at that time, they will put that pain aside.
And so we become fractured and split inside of ourselves, and it’s like we have parts, and the parts can be very much represented by the archetypes. But in reality, we’re not parts. We’re just one wholeness inside our being, throughout the world, and with each other. That’s, to me, the reality. I’ve seen that enough times to prove to myself that that’s it. And so when you have parts of yourself, they compete with each other. They argue and fight, and they go into resistance with each other. And so the alchemist’s time is to resolve those fractures, to heal those fractures. To go and feel what couldn’t be felt before.
What’s the shadow of the alchemist?
The shadow of the Alchemist is that you’re unhappy about the state of the world. Instead of envisioning and seeing the potential of yourself in the world, you just find everything that’s wrong with it.
The awakened king has a strong relationship with God because there are very few who would counsel the king by the time they get to that place in their life.
That’s awful.
Its grumpiness is a shadow of the Alchemist. An unwillingness to be independent can also show up in an alchemist’s finances and experience all of the losses of energy in that resistance to feeling the pain or the discomfort it requires to heal.
I took the quiz on your website.
Oh, good. What was yours?
What do you think it is?
Ah, I’m still getting to know you.
I know we didn’t. If you had to guess, I’d have.
I want to ask you a few questions. Would you like me to do that?
Sure.
So what’s the reason that you’re doing what you do?
Because I want to fulfill my purpose and help the world.
Okay. So it’s got a little bit of nurture assigned to it when you want to help.
Who do I want to help? Everybody that I can help. I know that I have the power to really change people’s lives sometimes just by being around them. I already create a lot of shifts, even when I’m not trying, even when I’m not talking to them. So I know I have this gift, and I just. It’s about shining my light as bright as I can in this world.
Nice. That’s beautiful. So, it’s speaking to me of both the nurturer archetype and the lover archetype. The last thing that you said is that shining your light bright in the world is more lover.
I got the king.
There you go. I don’t know enough about you at this stage. That’s fantastic.
Yeah, but you know what I mean. We’re all the archetypes. We’re everything.
This is the reality.
We can be the king in the morning. And as a mom, I’m the nurturer with my son, and I am the hiddenness when I go out with my girlfriends, do enough at all, and then I am the alchemist when I meditate and connect. So, I think it’s very flexible with the archetypes. Of course, as you said, we’re fragmented, and we all have them. And I also feel like the hero’s journey. Correct me if I’m wrong. What do you think about it? I feel like it’s nonlinear. It goes in and out. At some points, we go from the nurturer to the hiddenness to the lover to the alchemist throughout our lives. However, I also believe that our environment and our state of mind affect whether or not we are in the shadow of the archetypes or in our true purpose through them.
The alchemist’s time is to resolve and heal fractures.
Right. So, to me, the shadow means simply what you’re not aware of. So some people would say, “Oh, that’s the evil side.” And I would say, “No, it’s not inherently evil. It is vulnerable to evil.” We started to talk about demons again, for example, but it’s just simply what you don’t see. So, even the gift of the archetype can be in the shadow. And that’s actually fairly common. Where you’re denying the less functional side of the archetype, you’ll probably also be denying the gifts.
But you’re exactly right that we are all the archetypes on the hero’s journey, as I’ve conceived of it. It’s also possible we are all the archetypes through time because there are potentially hundreds of them. Archetypes can be created new also. One of the examples that I give is that we never had tech geeks before, but now they’re so recognizable. They walk down the street, and sometimes, just by seeing them, you know exactly what they are. So because it is actually one field in reality, and we are a collective consciousness.
We are all the archetypes. Now, what happens is that there will be certain ones to come forward at certain times of your life. So maybe, for example, with your parenting, you have a lot of that nurturer archetype when you’re with your children. But possibly, when your children are grown, it might not be as strong for you anymore. So then the archetypes of the hero’s journey, as I’ve conceived of them, are relatable to who I would call my people in my tribe. And I don’t mean that they’re mine. They’re the ones that have a similar blueprint, similar values, and a similar trajectory in their lives. And so I have yet to work with anyone who couldn’t relate to all eight of those archetypes as I found them.
And they don’t seem to be random. They are ordered. It’s just like our emotional life, where you think it’s just random. “Oh, I’m feeling angry.” “Oh, now I’m sad.” “Oh, I’m this.” “Oh, I’m that.” But there’s actually a reliable scale that’s in the shape of a spiral that they travel on, and they’re extremely consistent. So, the archetypes are similar. One does naturally give way to the other, and you might be able to retrace that in your path to the king. Now, when you get to the alchemist at the so-called end of the journey, you’re actually at the beginning of the journey again.
The shadow simply means what you’re not aware of.
It’s like a wheel. I got it. Okay, okay, explain it. So I go from, I go from the alchemist to the child.
How exactly? Because it’s not a wheel. It’s a spiral.
Spiral. It means everything is happening at once.
No, it means that there are discrete steps and stages. So you’ve got the child and the rebel and the warrior and the nurturer, and the lover, and the hedonist and the alchemist and the king. The king and the alchemist. Pardon me. And once you’re at the top, you’re at the bottom again. In order to go up, you’re at the bottom again.
Oh, I got it. I got it. It’s like when you reach one summit, you’re going on a journey for the next one. And when you’re on that journey again, you’re going through all the stages with all the light and shadow parts.
Exactly. But at a new level. People might say at a new frequency.
Super Mario level two, level three.
I could talk a little bit about why it’s not going to actually serve to just keep on spiraling up. Again, we’re indoctrinated to that in our life. I want to go from low energy to high energy, from a place of feeling like I can’t to I can. And then we are said to have arrived, and we’re good now, and we get the approval of our society or friends, family. But in reality, most people get disillusioned by that. When I got sick with cancer, I had a pretty good life.
I had the money, and I had a nice car, and I had an expense account, and I had the means to have fancy dinners and travel and do all kinds of things, but it was intensely disillusioning. I got to not the top, but a kind of top for me. And it didn’t fulfill me, didn’t make me happy. It didn’t give meaning to my life. So, we are meant to be disillusioned by high-frequency energy. And just like the scale of emotion is a map, the archetypes are a map. The purpose of the map is to get off the map.
That’s profound. So we study all this to satisfy our thinking brain so we can be present in our hearts and feel fulfilled, regardless of our achievements.
The soul is a complex entity, and it's only by letting go that we can become more aware of our true selves and continue to grow. Share on XYes. And the heart and the brain are not at odds. This is one of the illusions. And with a lot of indoctrination to support that, everything works perfectly together. What I noticed is that it’s like what Buddhists say. Buddhists say that everything is suffering. I don’t know if you’ve heard that before, and I’m not a Buddhist, but I did a deep dive into that.
And I went to Dharamshala, though.
Oh, you did? I was there as well.
I saw Dalai Lama there. It was awesome.
He wasn’t there when I visited.
And I ate those really cool momos. So good.
I know. They’re awesome. They’re my favorite. And so, after all of this suffering, I asked God, “Why did you create so much suffering? I needed to know.” And I heard this, “Beth, all of the human experience is a door.” So what we tend to do is either avoid the door like the plague again, not feeling, not perceiving, not going deep inside ourselves, or get stuck in the door. This is actually a lover’s shadow, where you go into the emotions and you stay there as one example, or you go into the archetype and you just cycle and you keep going around and around, or you go up. You’re trying to raise frequency, thinking that you’re running from death, for example. But it doesn’t matter how high or how low the energy is, whether it’s a thought or an emotion or a sensation. They are all doors to freedom.
If you go through it all the way to the other side and you see the program that anchors it as a reality for you, and you make a new decision to let that go, then freedom is always on the other side. So God installed an infinite number of doors to freedom, right? Whether it’s an illness or a relationship or a job or a business or anything like that, it’s all, to me, the purpose of all of it is freedom.
Beautiful. Can you share with us a process for someone who is avoiding the door or is stuck in the door? How do you go through an emotion? How do you face it? How do you just hold it?
One of the very big keys to it is that when you face an emotion you don’t like, you’ll have an aversion to it. So if you can start to, and it seems to be natural, not only.
Sometimes, the environment will judge you for that emotion.
And then you have two things to have an aversion to or multiple, and they compound and kind of team up with each other. One of the first steps is to recognize that there are two forces that we generally go back and forth with all the time. And it’s attachment, where we want that thing. Say it’s a good feeling that we like: courage, acceptance, and peace; we love that. Or is it a bad feeling, although I won’t go there? And we have an aversion to it, some kind of pain that we perceive to have. By recognizing your aversion and using your discrimination to see whether it’s attachment or aversion, it’s actually the identical signature vibration. They’re the same.
Even the ones pushing and ones pulling are actually the same action. And distinguish whether this gives life or drains life. So if you start seeing, oh, it’s draining my life to avoid feeling that pain. I’ve spent my whole life trying not to feel that pain, but it’s sucking the life out of me. At some point, you’re going to see all of the symptoms of that, whether it’s bad health, bad relationships, just being misaligned in your values or whatever it is. Things don’t go for you like you want them to. And so that recognition, that discrimination, that’s why you need your mind, by the way, it becomes like gold, because then you can recognize and choose life, right? The Bible says, “I’m not a Christian,” but it says, and this is brilliant. It says I place life and death before I choose life.
Yes, I know that one. In Hebrew, we say it’s the same one.
Beautiful. Yeah. And so that is the first step. Now, you can also go a second step to opening your arms and your heart to that which is unlovable. Right? If we’re going for a dark emotion, whether that’s apathy, grief, fear, sadness. Pardon me. Apathy, grief, fear, lust, anger, and pride are the main emotions that cause a lot of pain. With them, pride tends to have more invisible pain. It’s more hidden from us.
But if you can welcome the unwelcomeable, that makes a huge difference. What that is actually doing is engaging your higher mind because we can easily get by day after day without really using it. And so, by engaging in it, you start to have more choices. And you can say, “Okay, if my freedom is on the other side, then I can feel this, and I can welcome it.”
So the question you ask yourself is, does this bring life or take life in me, let’s say, being in fear right now, alivening me or taking away from me? What if it’s taken away from me? How do I release it?
So that’s the process that I teach. So once you allow yourself to feel it, you’ve gone to a certain depth that would, if you went deeper, allow you to see the program. So, the programs are discrete in nature. There are not very many of them. They are universal. No person is unique with a program. They’re like archetypes that they exist across the board. Everyone has a basic fear of not surviving.
Everyone has a basic fear of not being loved and approved.
Everyone has a basic fear of not being loved and approved of. Everyone has a basic fear of not being in control. Everyone also has a fear of not being whole or one and of being separate. And it can be an endless number of expressions and variations, but they’re all signature vibrations. And so once you are able to feel and welcome the emotion or the sensation or the belief or whatever it is, it doesn’t matter. And then you ask yourself about the program.
Which of these programs is it that’s giving me instructions from the unconscious, telling me that I’m going to die, telling me nobody loves me, telling me that I can’t be one or whole inside myself or in the world? And so we’re unconsciously listening to those instructions. As soon as you’re aware of unconsciously listening, then you can again discriminate and make a new choice. Do I want to take instructions from an inanimate program that drains life energy, or would I rather be free? And then it’s a moment of truth, and you decide, I want freedom more than I want to hold on to a program, more than I even want to survive more than anything.
And so then also, we don’t know that this is our operating system, right? Everybody has control over their own operating system. It answers to you. Now, you’re giving instructions both consciously and unconsciously. And so our system has no way to choose which instructions to listen to. It’s taking all of them. So if we’re giving most of our instructions unconsciously, then with this process, you can learn to give instructions to the programs and say, “Hey, I see you, I love you, but I won’t be needing your help here anymore.” And if it’s done with love and not fear, that program listens to you.
That’s very cool. It’s the same idea that when I do hypnosis, the same idea where you take things from when I work with somebody, we go into their subconscious mind. We find a program that goes to the same basic programs that you said, I don’t belong, or I’m going to die, or whatever program it is, and then you bring it to life. The moment you have conscious awareness of that program, you have the power to choose and change it. Because when you’re in the realm of, I don’t know what? I don’t know. It’s very hard to make any decision. Your subconscious mind is running your life. But when you have the awareness of this, that is what I know. I don’t know, or I know what’s going on here; I can change it right now.
And I want to ask you, let’s say fear. We talked about fear. When is fear necessary? When one does, they will make the choice; this is fear, and this enlivens me. Why would fear enliven me? Why would fear give me energy or be good for me?
It isn’t, in my experience at all, many people will argue. I’ve had this argument that everyone says, “Oh, we need fear because it’s protecting us.”
We have enough.
We have enough, and it doesn’t protect us at all. That’s part of the discrimination, to go and see, oh, that thing vibrating as fear, is it serving me? Has it solved my problem? Does it have a life of its own? Or is it drawing my life in order to operate? It doesn’t give anything good. People think that the classic example of your hand on a stove, how the fear makes you pull your hand away, and I would say, “No, it’s your instinct that is God-given and comes from love that has you pull your hand away, because that’s all about protecting life.”
High-frequency energy is very great and grandiose, and life is subtle and quiet but the most powerful.
Like your mama instincts, that’s the protection of life. Now, the fear that gets in there comes after you pull your hand off the stove. Then you’re afraid. Then you’ve got all the emotions running, and it’s as if to protect you. But this is just a very long-standing bad habit humanity has been in and has inherited as patterns in their lives. So fear does not protect. Fear never makes life.
I want to go back to a question I asked you closer to the beginning before we even started. The archetypes. When you connect to God’s source of universe energy, how do you know that you’re connecting to the right energy? How do you download the right information? How do you know that the beans or whatever it is that you’re working with are the good guys?
Well, it’s a very good question. And the bad guys come in disguise, in my experience.
Yes, they do.
Right? There were times when I encountered beings that I thought were not necessarily angelic from my side, but Mother Mary or Mary Magdalene or different figures that we were looking into Ishtar. And it was as if I was downloading them, and it would give me an experience of some kind. So it would make me feel happy, high, joyful, in love, or something like that. It would give me an experience. I would get high from it. And so my relationship with God does not make me high. It’s a presence. It’s a source.
Again, the difference is that you can use your mind to distinguish the difference between high-frequency energy and life itself. Right? High-frequency energy is very great and grandiose, and life is subtle and quiet but the most powerful. So the distinguishing, what is actual power, what is real power is, to me, the difference. And then you’re no longer vulnerable to no. Here was one of the tricks I found. Never call on entities. The only thing that you should call on is God.
That’s all I do.
There you go. And rather, it’s an inversion, right? That when we call on everything, the directions and the archetypes and the elements and on and on like that, it’s actually an inversion because we’re here to hear our calling, not to call out in every direction, trying to get saved from this human experience that has been fully installed with freedom. So, telling the difference was a very important part of my life when I learned to see that disguises can come. And to have no attachment to positive or negative entities, and to really understand the experience of life itself. What is life energy? What is death energy?
What do you do to connect to your alchemist and manifest your dreams?
I let go of programs. That’s my main thing. Yeah. The more healing work that I do, the more naturally I get inspired. The action just starts to take itself. Ideas come, and creativity busts out of me. I can’t stop it, even if I want to. So, yeah, to me, there’s nothing to add. I mean, there are lots of things that I like to do, but it’s, say, going for walks in nature and moving my body, exercising, getting blood flow. But to me, the real, true inspiration comes by letting go.
Amazing. I’m like. I’m asking myself, like, how much more do I have to let go of? Every time I’m letting go of things, there are, like, a hundred more things to let go of that keep popping up. Like, stop.
Well, it seems like since you know about this, the more you let go, the harder it gets because you get more aware of things that you weren’t aware of before. And that’s one of the things that I learned on what I thought was my deathbed, when I had to lay down so much, was the incredibly complex nature of the soul. It has overwhelming complexity. You can barely even begin. I had three years to lay down and check that out, and I didn’t scratch the surface, right?
So that complexity becomes a curse, even though it is the most beautiful thing, the most incredible thing. But you can easily get stuck in overwhelm. So, as you do the work, you become more and more aware of that complexity and the multi-layers. And I was working with somebody yesterday they’re just new to the archetypes, and they’ve started seeing themselves in them, and all of a sudden, they see these dynamics in their own patterns and how dynamics, one dynamic will play off the other like a pinball machine, and bounce.
If you know about pinball, it bounces off the bank, hits another thing, and it’s extremely complex. And then you get more access to that complexity. You get more access to seeing your own nature. What maybe didn’t give you pain at one time, maybe like a small insult that you made to somebody or a small something you did that’s out of alignment that you feel is not right or moral. Maybe it didn’t cause that much pain at one time, but the more aware you are, it causes enormous pain for even the smallest thing. Right? And you’re also called on your path of purpose because every time you accomplish something, you’re never done. The calling always renews. You always go back to the child archetype, and it’s going to be a layer that you feel like you can’t accomplish.
It’s going to give you challenges you haven’t had before. The things that got easy for you are still easy, but there are going to be new things that are hard. If you’re still on your hero’s journey, you’re still accepting your calling. And so the work gets harder. That’s not a way to, what do you call, advertise to people like, “Oh, yeah, I want the thing that gets harder.” But it is the gift of becoming fully alive and bringing all of our matter to consciousness. And what people don’t realize, like, yes, it gets harder, but freedom really, truly is. This is not lip service. You can also experiment to see if freedom is on the other side of every hard experience. And the alchemists know it doesn’t need to take a long time, right? You can go in and let go of things that are enormous in a very short time, given your willingness and the ability to make a new decision.
Yes. Before we say goodbye, for now, I have two questions for you. One is, where can people find you, and what are your three top tips for living a stellar life?
Nice. People can find me on my website, bethmartens.com. I’m on several social media outlets, like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Telegram is my favorite because it allows me to have personal interactions. That’s where posts can’t be taken down. There are still bots and stuff like that, but that’s where most of my exchange takes place.
I have the quiz on my website that you did and came up with the king on. In ten minutes, people can find their path of purpose and what the focus is right now for them, where they can start working right away to awaken any shadows that they find inside themselves.
So a lot of people do that quiz and get a lot of value from that. We’re going to have an event coming up in the next month or two. So it might be a good time for that. So, if you come and do the quiz at my website or sign up for my ascension myth-busting training, then both of those will get you in the queue for the archetype event that we’re going to be having. That’s going to be all about dissolving inner conflict and marrying the opposing forces that we suffer all day long.
If anybody wants to talk to me about coaching, they can sign up on my website to talk to me one-on-one, and we can have a conversation. I have several courses like The Nurturer Cure and Find Your Sacred Purpose, which work through archetypes, and a course called Primal Power, which is a totally different set of archetypes.
Maybe we could chat about a different time if you’re interested. People can purchase my book on my website as well. Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose. So I think that’s all you can join my podcast on YouTube, Rokfin, and Rumble.
So those are all free. I also talk about the House of Free Will, which is my private member association and a very small but amazing community where we are all solutions-oriented. We don’t talk about things that are scary if we don’t have solutions.
It can be in health, law, or EMFs. That’s part of your health or mindset. Or I’ve done a training there in the deprogramming, for example. You can become a member of the House of Free Will by application. You get access to a huge library of workshops, live events, and fellowships that we do every single week, which is coming up today.
And what are your three top tips for living a stellar life?
Allow what is trying to capture your attention to do so, rather than thinking that distraction is going to be protecting you in any way. Whatever is trying to get your attention, whether that’s your childhood or that pain in your body or that is a sign from God, then allow it to have your attention. Everything needs your attention and also to be discriminating with your attention at the same time.
So, if you’re paying attention to too many things that are scaring you and you see the life draining out of you, then you might realign how you spend your time in the company that you keep. So I think that’s two, and for living your best life, it would be to see what part of yourself you’re rejecting. What are you pushing away? Whether it’s a situation in your life or an experience inside your being, what are you trying to get away from or prevent? Look at that, and you can only heal what you can feel. So to practice that, that is a skill.
Beautiful. Thank you so much for this interview; it was really interesting and beautiful. It was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for sharing your light with the world.
Thank you so much for having me. It’s been a total pleasure. We’re right on the same page. I love that.
And thank you, listeners. Remember to allow what is trying to capture your attention to do so, yet be discriminating with your attention. Embrace the part of you or a part of your life that you are rejecting because you can only heal what you can feel and have a stellar life. This is Orion till next time.
Your Checklist of Actions to Take
{✓}Focus your spiritual calls on God rather than entities. This grounds you and helps you connect to a higher, more consistent divine presence.
{✓}Trust your inner voice and the unique calling it presents. Avoid seeking external saviors; instead, cultivate a deep connection with your purpose.
{✓}Acknowledge the multifaceted nature of your soul. Understanding this complexity can lead to greater self-awareness and continual personal growth.
{✓}Take steps to heal and let go of pre-programmed notions. This will naturally inspire creativity and motivation to pursue your dreams.
{✓}Pay close attention to the signals and messages that matter most. Discriminate how you allocate your attention to align with your true purpose.
{✓}Let go for freedom. Willingness to release attachments can lead to rapid transformation. True freedom often comes from letting go of what no longer serves you.
{✓}Identify and integrate different archetypes to understand your behavior patterns. This awareness helps align your actions with your higher purpose.
{✓}Embrace even negative emotions like fear and grief. Engaging your higher mind in these experiences can lead to greater choice and freedom.
{✓}Shift away from fear and scarcity mentalities. True fulfillment and freedom don’t rely on external achievements but on inner peace and alignment.
{✓}Use archetype journeys and emotional scales as guides rather than destinations. They help you navigate your path but aren’t the end goal.
